Cinnamon Squash Bread

It is now less than two weeks away from fall. While, I wouldn’t call it pumpkin pie season yet, it is beginning to become that time of year where cinnamon and nutmeg begin to creep back into our daily lives. Personally, I’m not at all opposed to this change!

This month’s recipes are all bread recipes and this week I wanted to bring you something you’ve probably never tried before. Today I fused the classic fall flavor of cinnamon and nutmeg with butternut squash into a cozy and tasty bread loaf. From start to finish it is a wonderful smelling bread.

Another perk to this bread recipe is that it doesn’t take much time! Because this recipe doesn’t use yeast, it doesn’t need to rise. This drastically cuts down on preparation time. For this recipe I only spent about 15 minutes preparing and 20 minutes baking. Bread in just over a half an hour isn’t too bad.

Cutting down on time doesn’t mean cutting down on flavor. This recipe still yields a really yummy small loaf. It’s perfect for four to six slices. Miniature bread pans would be awesome for this recipe or you can shape it free-form.

Either way you’ll need to put it in an oven that’s been preheated to 350° for 18-20 minutes. I would check it at 15 minutes to see how much longer you should continue to bake it for. All ovens cook slightly differently so baking time is a little flexible. Once it’s done be sure to let it cool before slicing!

This bread is an awesome way to kick off the fall and I personally love it. It’s also a great way to utilize some of the winter squash your garden produces. Those plants can produce an abundance and this is just one creative way to use the fruits of your labor.

I hope y’all enjoy this recipe and if you do, be sure to check out my other recipes! If you make this recipe, snap a picture and post to your Instagram or Facebook. Tag me and I’ll be sure to give it a like. I love seeing y’all make my recipes.

Thank you for taking the time to check out my blog. Whether you stay for a day, a week, a month, or a year, I appreciate you. -Kate
